Lana Jean Stefko, known as LANA9 or just plain Lana, died
unexpectedly in July, 2003. She had many friends online and this
page has been created as a permanent tribute to a woman who was
loved and respected by so many.

Lana was a proud Unladylike Evildoer and in fact was part of the
'Three Musketeers' who created the Unladylike Evildoer's Club. Lana
was my friend and my protector. I thought of her as my big sister. I
miss her immensely - her quick wit, her words, her voice, her presence.

Sleep well, my friend...

~~I give you this one thought to keep --

I am with you still -- I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain,

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush,

I am the swift uplifting rush

of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not think of me as gone --

I am with you still -- in each new dawn.~~

Lana, there is no need for goodbye because I can feel your spirit all around me and I know one day we'll meet again.  Until then I know I will feel your watchful eye keeping me safe.  You were a real warrior woman who took on life and left your mark before you passed on.  You were a complex woman from whom I learned so many things.  And so, you live on in my heart forever, your spirit always near.  Now you have peace.  Love, Sue

~~Today is a very good day to die.

Every living thing is in harmony with me,

Every voice sings a chorus within me.

All beauty has come to rest in my eyes.

All bad thoughts have departed from me.

Today is a very good day to die.

My land is peaceful around me.

My fields have been turned.

My house is filled with laughter,

My children have found their homes.

I found the following in a little book called The Golden Key to Happiness by Masami Saponji which was given to me some time ago -

"The river and the sea are never separate things. They are not to be thought of separately. Life and death, like the river and the sea, are connected. The sea water evaporates, becomes a piece of cloud, then again produces another raindrop. To return to death means to be reborn all over again."

So it will be with Lana. Her essence remains and the love she gave and received does not die with her passing from our presence. She will be sadly missed but the time she spent with us has left wonderful memories for those who knew and loved her. She has just passed to bring joy to those who are waiting.

Lana always had a very strong energy. She was a very complex woman.. and it seems that there was much more to her than any one person in her circle of friends ever knew. She was many different things to all of us. She had a very broad base of knowledge, and if she didn't know something, she knew where to look for the information she needed.  . She was very generous to many with her knowledge of computers and the internet, among other things. More than one of us has been helped in some way through this generosity.

In the end, this very strength masked the severity of her illness. We all expected her to win against it in the end.

Lana's presence will be missed, but her spirit will not be.. it will remain among her friends as long as she remains in the hearts of those who cared about her.

Here is Lana's one piece of advice:

"One thing my grandmother told me many years ago, "Never let the sun set on an argument.""

My favourite story about Lana thou I didn't know her very well was from last year. I posted a question on AIH, BF, Pointask and a couple of other sites. The Question was about a TV show on a US cable channel, The National Geographic Channel to be exact, it was a show about the hidden tunnels in the Great Pyramid in Egypt in the Queen's chamber to be exact. I didn't get the  NG channel. She chased me from site to site trying to tell me that she would tape the show for me.

Then she chased me from site to site to tell me that FOX had decided to picked up the show and she would still tape it. I couldn't get FOX. I was able to watch it on FOX but she taped it anyway. I got her interested in the tunnels inside the Great Pyramids.

Here is one link I told her about http://www.cheops.org/ and she was hooked.

Lana was someone i knew briefly, for quite some time. One of the names i recognized of those you mentioned before i knew much about UEC...There is a lot to celebrate of her life.  She is strongly within those she knew, as well as those who knew her.  She is already responding to all we do - including our words and thoughts.  Her future dialogue will always be welcome...   Aloha Lana. 1da.

Soft as the voice of an angel,
Breathing a lesson unheard,
Hope with a gentle persuasion
Whispers her comforting word.
Wait till the darkness is over,
Wait till the tempest is done,
Hope for the sunshine tomorrow,
After the shower is gone.
-Alice Hawthorne

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Matthew 5:4

Goodbye for now, my dear and precious friend. I shall love you always and miss you till the day we meet again. Jackie (psykomom)

When asked for a song title that hadn't been written yet, Lana answered:
"Don't know if there is one named this or not since I hardly ever listen to music but I would have to say, "I'm gonna live till I die.""

When asked if she could play a musical instrument or had other talents, Lana replied:
"Nope, I know the genes are there but I haven't had time to develop them. My Gram used to play piano while the audience was watching a silent movie. She played by ear, didn't know a C note from and A note. I did take ballet, tap and toe when I was a youngster and remember some of the steps, but to do it now, I doubt it."

When asked if she could be the best of something, what would it be, Lana replied:
"I would have to go with a writer of mysteries. Romance I could do but believe me, it wouldn't be like what is in the bookstores now, dull! It's a type of thing where I could stay secluded and write away just having contact with a few people. I would never give interviews or be on TV or nothing. Not only would the books be mysteries, the author would be too."

"How many remember the hoops that we put under our skirts way back when. There were three wires that made the full skirts stick out.
I remember in 8th grade wearing them but the teacher put a stop to all hoops. If we got up against a desk or anything, then they would go way up in the back and all the boys would giggle with wide eyes.

When I look at my high school pics, the style then was straight skirts, below the knees half way to the ankles. God they looked gross.
Yea, I know Flo, bet you wore yours all the way to your feet.. :nanana

I love seeing the old movies with dresses down to the feet, nice and full and those tiny waists. I don't think I could have ever wore those lace up things though, I would have choked."

"All this turkey talk made me think of something I thought funny.

I get chickens that are ready to eat for a quick supper when I know I am going to be cutting grass or anything else that will keep me busy till close supper time.

About a month ago I was waiting for the gal to get the chickens out of the oven and she asked if I wanted fat legs. I laughed and told her that when my sons were a lot younger I would have said yes, give me the fat legs.

However, since my son at home is 27 you better give me the one with the big boobs. He is a boob guy now, likes them better than legs."

Please leave your condolences, memories, thoughts in Lana's Guestbook which is being generously maintained by psykomom.
